The hospital I work for, did a little research on use of the computers at work. There are 12 hospitals across the midwest in our order, so there's lots of computers in use...at all times.
The IT guys found 'not all' of the work...has been for hospital use. They found thousands of 'hits' on Facebook and MySpace...every day. Based on that, they decided to 'block' access to those accounts.
It looks like the practice of checking out Facebook, and the likes, is pretty common in the workplace. As well, with more and more SmartPhones out there...how much work is 'not' being done as people keep 'one eye' on their phone?
As companies watch their bottom lines more and more...I wonder how many other companies will follow the example of 'the sisters'?
