THE OLD ELM...PART 2

In January, I submitted a post (The old man and the elm) about an old elm tree in Maine that they were getting ready to chop down due to disease. The story also was about the 101 year old man who had been the trees' caretaker.

Well, they finally got the results on the real age of the elm tree. There were estimates that it was as old as 240 years old. They were a little off...but still it's pretty fascinating.

The tree was planted when George Washington was President of our country. It saw the 18th century...the 19th century...the 20th century...and the 21st century.

If only it could talk!
